About Unix timestamps
A Unix timestamp (also called epoch time) is the number of seconds that have elapsed since 00:00:00 UTC on 1 January 1970. It's a compact, timezone-free way to store a moment in time, which is why it shows up everywhere in programming, databases, logs and APIs.
This converter goes both ways: paste a timestamp to see the date in your local time and UTC, or enter a date to get the timestamp in seconds and milliseconds. It auto-detects whether your number is in seconds or milliseconds, and everything runs in your browser.
